ckg day #93
:(

ckg day #92
it has been so long since i last blogged here. hehehe.
cos life has been the same everyday, every week and every month. dont wish to bore anyone who happens to drop by my blog. so i didn't write it, cos i am bored of writing the same things everyday too. hahaha.
anyway. i just came back from my first ktv session here in chongqing! rarr. three months since i last hold a mic and sing man! jenn is a happy girl today. (very tiredd too!) was on morning shift this morning at 6am. so i went to work with barely 5 hours of sleep. i get tired very easily when i dont get my 12 hours of beauty sleep lar. so i knocked off at one plus, skipped lunch and nap asap.
met my colleagues in the evening to the Melody ktv which is like 5times bigger than cine kbox? or more. hmmm. very new and well furnished place. service is soooo much better than kbox too. lol. its like when you press the service button. the crew will pop by within a minute. its really really that fast can. no lie. good mics, fantastic sound system, touch screen song pick system (no remotes to control). simply so much better than sg's. was telling them i wanna import Melody back to sg. so the package we got today is like we order dinner in there, like at least 98RMB and will get free singing hours. in other words, we pay for dinner there ahh. AND food in there is good you know. they really have a kitchen to cook de. not instant and packet. nice! :)) i'm quite impressed Melody. the whole experience is so cooool and the best thing is that i get to sing again. after like 4hours of singing.. i'm already so worn out lar. so we headed home seperately.
so i think we spent arnd 40bucks sing dollars for 5pax and 4hours of singing? worth it ba! :) got dinner and good service some more. hmmm. wanna go franchise it. hehhee.
and some time back.. there was this autumn outing for every department in the hotel and each employee gets a budget of 150RMB to spend. so front office went to this sci-fi theme park which i felt was pretty boring. every rides is so sci-fi which is so boring even after the first ride lar. i slept in most rides cos waiting time is longg and i was at work in the morning tooo. at 6am! imagine how turn off i was when i realise everything was so uninteresting. but everyone else was rather fascinated by the whole place and rides. hmmmm. i was much happier during dinner after that. glad that didn't have hotpot but had old duck soup 老鸭汤 instead. it also comes in big pot of soup, but its clear soup which means non spicy! den got peking duck to eat also. the leftover bones throw inside the soup to boil it. it works like hotpot actually, but the main dish is the peking duck. yumms!
yups. thats about all the highlights i have in nov. still at the club lounge currently, will be moving on to the next stop soon.
i'm getting tired. goodnight. :))

ckg day #73
big roars.
i'm like down with flu again for the donkey times since i have been here in chongqing. perhaps its the weather, the changing season which i am not used to. perhaps i didn't manage to get my 12hours of beauty sleep that i always need. perhaps i am missing everyone at home and i have fallen ill due to my distracted focus.
like what i told alex a few mins ago, when one person is sick, the heart tends to fall ill too. just like how i will always get super emotional (because i am alr emo by nature) when i am feeling very lousy and uncomfortable. missing my love ones who will take extra good care of me when i am sick, missing friends who will check if i am getting better.
ohwell. perhaps its the distance ba.
i really appreciate friends like alex. who always catch me up on the msn once in a while, asking me how am i and stuffs. and amazingly, he often got me when i'm feeling down or sick. and when the new msn window is blinking and alexus FIGHT! appears... you just dont know how much warmth it has been transferred. like how you are trying hard to transferred your recovery power to me now. lol. but still, thanks alex. you have been a great friend :)
marv and barney tooo. when my private message change. you guys always seem to be on the lookout and had cheered me up simply by asking me if i am alright and well, the chats we had. xie xie ni men. :)
my bestie, stephie. know you had been busy and hope you are coping well. though we dont really get to catch up, but still emails recieved from you had been simply wonderful. just wanna say sorry too! cos i know our chats had always been halfway through bcos of hmmm. yups. but still thanks for updating me with you life even though i cannot be there with you. loves you! :)
also appreciate my lovelyy family. my mama, dad and my sister. who will always check me out through the webcam every now and then. my mama who will alwayss tell me that she cooked curry chicken for dinner, updating me with family-gossips. my dad who will always to do something more constructive over here instead of watching tv and computer. and my sister - regarding facebook.
and most importantly, my dearest boyfriend who never fails to give at least a call everyday since my day1 here. to make me feel so close yet very far away from home. thanks for believing in us, thanks for your encouragement, for your understanding tolerance and love. thanks for not leaving me out in your everyday even though i'm so far away. you are my greatest motivation. :)
thanks to all those who have dropped a line or so somewhere. jenn is happy to have you guys around.
87days more till i am back. rarr.

ckg day #70
It scares us more than anything except death being alone.
Our fear of aloneness is so ingrained that given the choice of being by ourselves or being with others we opt for safety in numbers, even at the expense of lingering in pain, boring, or totally unredeeming company.
And yet more of us than ever are alone.
While many Americans have their solo lifestyles thrust on them – people die, people go away, a huge and growing population is choosing to be alone.
In 1955, on in ten U.S. households consisted of one person. By 1999, the proportion was one in three. Single men and women accounted for 38.9 million of the nation’s 110.5 million households. By 1999, single parents with children under the age of eighteen made up 27.3 percent of the nation’s 70.9 million family households. Meanwhile, many more Americans are divorcing. In less than three decades, the number of divorced men and women has more than quadrupled – to a total of 18.3 million in 1996, compared to 4.3 million in 1970. Never before in American history has living alone been the predominant lifestyle.
Nonetheless, we persist in the conviction that a solitary existence in the harshest penalty life can mete out. We loathe being alone – anytime, anywhere for whatever reason. From childhood we’re conditioned to accept that when alone we instinctively ache for company, that loners are outsiders yearning to get in rather than people who are content with their own company.
Alone, we squander life by rejecting its full potential and wasting its remaining promises. Alone, we accept that experiences unshared are barely worthwhile, that sunsets viewed singly are not as spectacular, that time spent apart is fallow and pointless. And so we grow old believing we are nothing by ourselves, steadfastly shunning the opportunities for self discovery and personal growth that solitude could bring us.
We have even coined a word for those who prefer to be by themselves: antisocial, as if they were enemies of society. They were viewed as friendless, suspect in a world that goes around in twos or more and is wary of solitary travelers.
People who need people are threatened by people who don’t. The idea of seeking contentment alone is heretical, for society steadfastly decrees that our completeness lies in others. Instead, we cling to each other for solace, comfort and safety.
Ironically, most of us crave more intimacy and companionship than we can bear. We begrudge ourselves, our spouses, and our partners’ sufficient physical and emotional breathing room, and then bemoan the suffocation of our relationships.
To point out these facts is not to suggest we should abandon all our close ties. Medical surveys show that he majority of elderly people who live alone, yet maintain contact with relatives and friends, rate their physical and emotional well-being as “excellent”. Just as an apple a day keeps the doctor away when they were young, an active social calendar appears to serve the same purpose now.
But we need to befriend and enjoy ourselves as well. We must learn to be alone. Instead of planting our solitude with dream blossoms, we choke the space with continuous music and chatter to which we do not even listen. It is simply there to fill the vacuum. We can’t stand the silence, because silence includes thinking. And if thought, we would have top face ourselves.
Let us learn, then, from those in search of what they have not been able to find and hold: peace of mind, gentleness of heart, calmness of spirit, daily joy. Who have come to understand that to know and to love and to be of value to others, they first must know and love and value themselves; that to find their way in the world, the have to start by finding themselves.

THIEF!
theif steals. by taking away things which dont belong to you and without the permission... it is stealing.so, if by using up your personal thing without your permission, can that be considered as stealing toooo? afterall the quantity/volume just get lesser and lesser what. and that gone quantity is not used up by me.
so what to you think? steal or not steal? thief or not one?
dont tell me you cannot afford one. rarrr.
that will be the most greatest joke on earth.

ckg day #59
cant wait to be back, i'm missing everything and everybody in sg sooo much. roars. life here is getting pretty boring without good company. without movie and dinner date with mrchan. without gossips with ame and jo. without shopping with hoer, without the usual hangouts with alex, marv, eric, fang, yc, catcat and everybody else who always stick with us. without the birthday gathering of the angel babes. without my mama's cooking and my dad's lame jokes..
i'm boredd. got addicted to the facebook finally. hah. initially i cannot view every applications in the website that needed us to hold on. it was only yesterday that i realise, eh! i can view and play with MOST of the functions already, and best of all, my secondary sch fav teacher found me in facebook. hahaha. i started playing arnd, exploring and then.. i'm hooked.
anyway, just wanna share something.. i'm not very sure if i told you before, but the GM of the hotel is a singaporean. he was the one who liase with mrs tan and gave us a placement here. and ever since i have arrived, he took good care of us.. well, everyone else did lar. but there's this special bond with between us bcos we are singaporeans mar. and its always nice to see him arnd during lunch/dinner at the restaurant. and sooo, on the saturday that had just past, my GM has left the holiday inn north chongqing. he was offered a new placement in Beijing, and he accepted cos he wanted to reunite with his family in beijing. so yupps, was invited to attend the GM's farewell party on friday and it was so touching larr. though he had only been with the hotel for 15months.. he is very very and super close to his team and understand them very well.
ohwell, currently the hotel is without a GM. and there's no more a GM to bum into when i'm having lunch or dinner and there's no more the feel of seeing someone from homeland is warmth. :( but still, wishing him all the best in beijing.
skipped dinner at the restaurant tonight. headed outside to the residential estate to buy some
bread instead. i always enjoy this kind of short trips out. hahaha. i love to be in this kind of cooling weather actually. but i'm always lazy to head out for long bcos you need to put on extra clothes and wear shoes instead of slippers. lol. this kind of weather also makes me crave for their hot and spicy shaokao! :) yumms.
2nd periodic report has been submitted. 3 more report to do before my oiap is officially over. perhaps i should start on my final report some time soon so i will not need to rush on the last week in chongqing. HAHAHA. yess, i'm thinking about the last week here alr.
time plsss pass faster !

ckg day #58
1. It is okay to make mistakes
Making mistakes is something we all do, and I am still a fine and worthwhile person when I make them. There is no reason for me to get upset when I make a mistake. I am trying, and if I make a mistake, I am going to continue try. I can handle making a mistake. It is okay for others to make mistakes, too. I will accept mistakes in myself and also mistakes that others make.
2. Everybody doesn’t have to love me
Not everybody has to love me or even like me. I don’t necessarily like everybody I know, so why should everybody else like me? I enjoy being liked and being loved, but if somebody doesn’t like me, I will still be okay and still feel like I am an okay person. I cannot make somebody like me, anymore than somebody can get me to like them. I don’t need approval all the time. If someone does not approve of me, I will still be okay.
3. I don’t have to control things
I will survive if things are different than what I want them to be. I can accept things the way they are, accept people the way they are, and accept myself the way I am. There is no reason to get upset if I can’t change things to fit my idea of how they ought to be. There is no reason why I should have to like everything. Even if don’t like it, I can live with it.
4. I am responsible for my day
I am responsible for how I feel and what I do. Nobody can make me feel anything. If I have a rotten day, I am the one who allows it to be that way. If I have a great day, I am the one deserves credit for being positive. It is not the responsibility of other people to change so that I can feel better. I am the one who is in charge of my life.
5. I can handle it when things go wrong
I don’t need to watch out for things to go wrong. Things usually go just fine, and when they don’t, I can handle it. I don’t have to waste any my energy worrying. The sky won’t fall in; things will be okay.
6. I am capable
I don’t need someone else to take care of my problems. I am capable. I can take care of myself. I can make decisions for myself. I can think for myself. I don’t have to depend on somebody else to take care of me.
7. I can be flexible
There is more than one way to do something. More than one person has had good ideas that will work. There is no one and only “best” way. Everybody has ideas that are worthwhile. Some may make more sense to me than others, but everyone’s ideas are worthwhile, and everybody has something worthwhile to contribute.

its the china national day week this coming week. so i've got 3 public holidays in a row, plus today i've got 4 offs in total! hahaha. so fun. so boyfriend is here to accompany me here.
went to the bavarian beer festival on thursday which happen to be my another off day lar. the gm asked for us go along to have a look at how this festival is celebrated. as this is a imported festival you see. the 3 IHG hotels in chongqing collaborated for this festival to happen. they are intercontinental chongqing, holiday inn yangtze and the hotel i'm with - holiday inn north chongqing! have uploaded some photos in my album so have a look if you are interested.
work for the past 2 days haf been great too. did my first opening of the lounge only yesterday. hahaha. so proud of myself k. cos i only follow my colleague once for that shift. and i have to be there at 6am alone when the place is quiet and dark with nobody larr. so i on the tv louder than usual.. like what one of my colleague advise me to if i felt the place to silent. hehehe.
so far, life at executive club lounge has been good. :)
and my first month here in chongqing is officially over! yayy! one month down and 4 more to gogo. hahaha. very very fast i will be back sooon already. those people who once told me that you will come and visit, better start your planning now already ahh. lol. if not i will be back in sg in a blink of eyes.

ckg day #24
here you are telling me that you do not have enough _____ . so well, i dont mind _____ most of the time and top up for you first. since you said you will _____ with me. but you never did lar. so i assume you still dont have _____ . but on the other hand, you seem to be _____ like alot and non stop as if _____ drop from the sky man. so tell me, how am i suppose to feeel? do you even have the intention of ______ ? well, i'm really not in need of _____ actually, but your action just irks me.
i doubt so. fill in the blanks. all blanks are 5 _s long, so it doesn't mean it has 5 alphabets ok. lol.
anyway, today is my first day at club floor! yayyy! hahaha :) there's alot more things to learn and know up on that 25th storey. basically, we need to check in and out guest from executives levels, in charge of the breakfast and happy hour buffet set up, and operation of the business center (since their biz center is combine with club lounge). wheeeeee. so much to learn i know, but i like! cos it will keeps me busy and time will pass faster that way. i heard we even need to fry egg upon guest request during breakfast. most importantly i like face to face interactions with guest more!
just like today, there were several guests - english speakingss came up to the business center for use of internet or asked for stationary. hahaha. i just felt like a translator today as i'm not very sure of the informations yet and i cant give guest the definite solutions/answers. when my colleagues explained to me, i will translate to the guest. and when guest replies, i will ask my colleague lar. so funny. overall it's a great first day at club floor.
stomach hasn't been that good this two days. had soup noodles for both my meals at restaurant today. i've yet to visit the toilet after dinner, hope its a good sign larr.
yay! boyfriend's coming over to visit me during the october holidays in china. :)) their national day! many many off days ahh.
excitedd.

ckg day #23
Wednesday, 19Sept
was on morning shift. mrs ong, mr lau and mrs tan (directors and lecturer of BA ehh..) arrived at the hotel around 1030 in the morning. was called up to recieve and greet them at the lobby area. roommate and i followed mrs tan to her room for a quick chat before i went back down to gsc for my shift. after a short nap after work, we had dinner with the 3 vips at nanbinlu. some place where we have never been to before actually. since they were alright and pleased with the dinner at some restaurant which we just anyhow choose, i shall just omit my personal thoughts here. dinner was an interactive one and mrs sue tan is super funny when she tries to talk to the waitress there is chinese. :)) after dinner, we went down to jiefangbei to show them around the more central area of chongqing. desserts at kfc which drinks and their yummy eggtart before we headed back to the hotel.
Thursday, 20Sept
woke up super early in the morning to send the 3 vips off from the hotel. they came to chongqing from jinan and were heading to shanghai next. bid farewell and came back to sleeep till i'm satisfied. lol. watch tv, sleep, surf net. well, there's what i did for the whole day lar. and i was also informed on this day from my fom that i will start my days on executive club floor from netx week onwards! hahaha :)
Friday, 21Sept
afternoon shift with candy and toni. got myself occupied with kakuro, some number game that can be found at their national english newspaper - china daily. after dinner, candy and i compete spider with each other. i also brought down all our pork floss mooncakes for her since she likes it and we dont.
Saturday, 22Sept
my last day at gsc! morning shift with rainny and beyond again. hahaha, most of the time, i will be on the same shift with them. especially this week, bcos my supervisor need to cover the position of assistant manager for a period of time. work with beyond is always entertaining ahh, cos this girl knows alot and is very bubbly. she wants to be a tourguide in future lar. so you can imagine how she can keep talking nonstop. hahaha.
after work was out with the two of them. first we went to a store opened my rainny's friend and see see look look. next, they brought me to a food street near jiefangbei there to eat the snacks and fingerfood they loves. its nice man! though its very oily.. i love the octupus leggs the most. :)) they wanted to bring me to experience something new. so i got to sit on the skytram to across their huge river and view the sunset! prettypretty. too bad my cam is not professional to capture sunset larr. hehehe, but the view is breathtaking enough. wheeeeeee. :)
beyond was like a tourguide on training bringing showing rainny and i cos even rainny has never taken the ride before! so we went down to the hongyadong area and visit their souvenir shops. they bought some gifts and i bought a few things too. but i will sure be there again when i'm leaving chongqing to buy back gifts for everyone!
Sunday, 23Sept
my second off day of the week. this week also rounds up my training days in gsc. the people there are my first bunch of friends ive made in chongqing. all nice and friendly people. though my days with them are short, they will always be remembered. and i'm sure to pop down at gsc as and when possible to disturb them. :))
still thinking if i should head out later..
Tuesday, September 18, 2007
ckg day #18
had been at work for the past 2 days, on afternoon shift. recieved a box of eight mooncake from the hotel yesterday. hahaha. roommate and i each have a box as each employee is entitle to one lar. so we have sixteen mooncakes to eat which we cant possibly finish it ourselves. so good girl jenn cuts one of it and bring down to share with my fellow gsc colleagues. afterall they will be giving their mooncake away to their relatives and will not be able to try. everybody here is so nice to us, so any chance available, i will want to repay them. :))
highlight(s) of today. went for medical checkup in the morning. i'm required to go through the check by the government as i'm residing here for half a year. and so blood test is needed! was still half asleep in the morning and was totally awake when we walked to the first station - BLOOD TEST. they took 1 and a half tube of blood away from me larr. rarr. kind of scary though cos i watch them poke the needle in and stuff. yucks. luckily i did not faint like some angmoh girl behind me did. and she didn't even look at it ahh.
other tests were like blood pressure, organs function, heartbeat thingy, B ultrasound thing and urine check. the toilet in the checkup center is the smelliest i've ever come acrossed already. partly bcos i wont visit public toilets outside lar. but no choice this morning! have to produce urine for them.. its smelly until you will puke when you first step in that kind ahh. they have no flush to keep the bowls clean. that's whyy.
so after med check. back to the hotel to sleeep.
shopping in the afternoon after lunch at jiefangbei again. managed to get 2 winter tops at a good price and a new bag. hahaha. i'm spending so much even before my first pay comes in. gonna stay in hotel as much as possible next two weeks to reduce my expenses already.lol.
bought shaokao on our way back to the hotel.
on morning shift tml. need to sleep early. mrs sue tan, mrs ong long fung and mr philip lau checking in to the hotel tml morning. here for a visit and meetup for the hospitality trainer from IHG. gonna meet them up for dinner too! :) they will be here for a night before heading to the other city of china ba.
wheeeeeee! goodnight pple. :)

ckg day #15
SEVEN you know?!! dunno why they send me so many also. furthermore i did not sign up for it since semesters ago lar. the first semester i signed up for it, they didn't send me my results via sms. so i decided not to sign up anymore. ohwell, who know this sem they send me so many to remind me over and over again how i did for my final papers. rarr. even until this morning, i'm still recieving it lar.
crazy. so how many did you guys received ahh?
cup noodles for lunch today. woke up late after 12 hours of sleeep. yayy! 12hours! hahaha, like finally i'm able to rest all i can. i'm so happy. :)) too late and lazy to go down to restaurant for lunch. kind of sick and tired of it also larr. hehehe.
went out arnd 3plus for a little shopping, top up our cup noodles, biscuits and milo. bought another top and belt from giordano again. hahaha. i found the reversible belt that i wanted long long time ago at a much cheaper price. wheee. roommate bought a top and a vest for her brother tooo. but she is somehow low on cash already so i help her paid for a part first. next stop, we went to get our groceries before i also have no more cash.. hahaha. well, normally i pay for the groceries first one anyway. so there goes my 500rmb in a day! ohno. spending 500rmb in china in a day is alot for their people here! so please jenn. you need to save! =/
came back to hotel to drop our stuffs in our room before we walk out to the side of our hotel to eat shaokao. yummyliciouss! and its very worth it larr. though its still a little spicy even though we requested not to put chilli. the chilli here is numbing-ly hot ahh.. den diinner back at the restaurant before i came up first and roommate went to get her running shoes with her colleague.
so my off day is coming to an end. back to work tomorrow onwards till wednesday before my off days on thurs and sunday!
takecare people. :))

ckg day #14
gambatte ne.
hadn't been updating for the past few days cos i was quite tired and drained out having to switch from afternoon to morning shift. which means, lesser hours of sleeep for me. :(
tuesday i cant really remember really what happen this day. but i guess nothing much really happened to leave me a deep impression. hahaha :) the only thing i know when that i'm on afternoon shift.
wednesday
woke up after a few hours of sleeep. when i dont get sufficient sleep of at leat 10hours. i'll be forever tired. reported to work at 7 and i even stole some nap during my shift. to pass time quickly, i went for breakfast which i dont usually eat in the morning. something good about morning shift is that we have 2 breaks in between. the breakfast and lunch. and time will seem to pass faster after 12noon. hehehe.
come back home at 3plus, log online to read some mails, watch tv and was planning to nap for awhile before heading out. supervisor from frontdesk and western restaurant was bring us out to see some scenic areas at night in chongqing, and roommate said we were to meet at 0530 lar. BUT they called at 0430 to meet us. whatever lar, was so confusing cos i wasn't the one who arrange with them you see. when i dont get rest, going out also wont have fun. i was having bad headaches and occassion spins lar. rarr.
they brought us to shop arnd at jiefangbei first. but i wasn't really in the mood for shopping seriously. and its just so uncomfortable to have people who are not shopping to watch and wait for you try. ohwell, i'll rather shop myself with my own space.. or people i'm comfortable with. :) i miss shopping with dearest meiho lar! den when night falls, we walked from jiefangbei there to this hongyadong which is beside their river. quite pretty actually. but i din take any photos.. was even more tired by then. took bus back home, tired to sleeep earlier than usual. tried, that is.
thursday
was on afternoon shift BUT still need to wake up in the morning. appointment to meet this guy who is a hospitality trainer from IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Groups). he shared with us he job and his vision, also to check on how we are doing somehow. cos we are under this new training scheme too. went back toom to sleep after that. i was planning to skip lunch and have more sleep actually. BUT my FOM (front office manager) called arnd 12 and inform us that the EAM (executive assistant manager) is meeting us for lunch at 1230. he's the 3rd big shot in the whole hotel hierarchy, he's very nice to us. so together we had lunch with him, our fom and training manager. lunch was great! its at our chinese restaurant which we dont usually get to eat at. food was yummylicious. interesting stories were shared over the table by EAM himself.
got back and prepared for work after lunch.
i caught the da vinci code on hbo after work. hahaha. reminds me of marv and gang. the time we went to watch together and were sitted right at the front rows lorr. lol. so funny. after the show, i was flipping through the sixty over channels on stop by on this korean drama and guess what, i heard to soundtrack which we used us 'the blog song' for campus idol! so qiao, but i dont know which show was that already lar.. so i was missing my ba_comm people lots loads last night man. rarrr. mh, marv, lex, yc, eric, melv, dav, yf, cat, clar.. the list goes on. :))
friday woke up and checked results at 6. off i went to work at 7. knocked off at 3. came back, chatted online with some pple before i took my long awaited nap.. so shiok! i even overslept for dinner. hehhh.
its my second off day of this week tomorrow! yesssh, more rest. more sleeep. :)

ckg day #10
hadn't been updating for quite somedays. let me track back a little.
saturday.
was roommate and my off day together. we woke up arnd 2plus in the afternoon? hahaha, wash up and we headed to a new place - jiefangbei. this place is like our orchard road, bugis and marina square back in singapore ahh. and its very very pack! colleague told us that even during weekdays, the place will also be very crowded because young pple likes to go there. we went to get the more important thing done first which was to take passport size photos... the hotel need many more of it for admin purpose. den we had lunch at their macs, which is good and cheap! :) and we went shoppinnggggggggg. bought a top from their giordano, wanted to buy the adidas pullover but didn't have enough cash for it after buying the groceries and stuffs. its on sales! rarr. but its ok, keep telling myself that i should be saving money instead. anyway, its so hard to find milo here in chongqing lar, and we finally found it at the supermarket in jiefangbei.
so we took bus from jiefangbei back to hotel instead of cab. though its a longer journey, but i think its worth the time and money. hahaha. :)
sunday.
work on B shift. which is 15:00-23:00. receive a mooncake from restaurant supervisor during my dinner time! work was still memorising and learning of ext numbers and top questions asked by guest. the opera system used by gsc is kind of limited access cos they dont exactly need the whole function. but its still fascinating to be able to see it on real operations after learning it from classes. cant wait till i'm transfer to club floor and front desk where i can learn more and put my knowledge to better use. hahaha. supervisor always let me off earlier when i'm on B shift.
monday.
here i am. slacking in my rooom. :)
results is gonna be out real soon.
prayss hard.

ckg day #7
I HAVE BEEN IN CHONGQING FOR A WEEEEK ALREADYY! :)
whhhheeee. fast? i think its kind of slow lar. hahaha. perhaps when i learn more things and there's more for me to do at work, time will pass faster. first week of the 22weeks of oiap down!
results gonna be out on 14th. roommate says that if we fail any module, iap will auto we reduced to 6 weeks and we have to return back to sg to repeat and study. ohman. please let me pass all lar. not that i dont want to be back in sg but i dont want to study alone! prays hard.
morning. met one of the HR personnel to go police station to get our visa and paperwork done. after that i reported for my morning shift as soon as i got back to the hotel. so basically, i start to memorise the first page of extension number today. i also answer my first call at gsc lar. it was a jap guest who speaks in a very-difficult-to-understand english. colleague cant understand so they pass me the phone. initially i talk it wasn't english lar. cos it sounded really foreign! but i manage to figure out what he wanted and manage to save my colleague from paying extra charges for the room. the guest actually wanted to delay his checkout time. yayy! :)
den it was their general staff meeting which they ask me to go too. the first part was actually their skills competition finals from different department. felt kind of cheated to attend the meeting larr. but den when it finally get down to the meeting, which was like one and half hour later... the GM actually introduced me as an intern to their whole employees during his speech. i was like, woahhh! hahaha. lots of friendly associates (what they call their people) came over, chatted with me. telling me they will bring me out someday. so cute of them larr!
when the meeting finally ended. went back to gsc to took some photos with one the supervisor who is leaving the team. and room sweeet room! :)
tml is my off day! yipppeee.
anyway. i always wanted to blog this but i always forget. SO i'm telling you guys that the people here eat rabbit's meat! they braised it, make it with salad.. etc etc. so eeyer lar! i dont even dare to open the lid up to see. whahaha. i didnt try too lar.
dad bought webcam home already! so now i can webcam my family everyday tooo. :)
so yups. goodnight.

ckg day #6
yawnns.
super tired.
sleeping late at night is really bad when i need to work morning shift the next day. plus when i've got nothing much to do. it adds on to my boredom and i can doze off anytime one lar. i bought i few of my stuffs down to keep me awake. but not of any use lar.. so work was kind of boring again today. and its only until the end of my shift already den they say they will be training me to get hands on with the transferring of calls for internal and external guests, and own departments too. so the first thing i need to do now i to memorise ALL the extension numbers in the whole hotel. rarr. i dont mind lar. i'm glad that i have something more constructive to do now! :)
knocked off at 3, came back room to nap.
dinner was with a few front office colleagues. they brought us to go try their chongqing hotpot. i think its really super spicy lar, the smell of it is choking enough. so i just had food from the clear soup ONLY. and they order alot of food from intestines rather than more meat. so i kept eating mushroom lor. hahahaha. they were very friendly and nice people lar. they insisted on them paying for us, to like celebrate and welcome our stay with them. was still kind of tired throughout the dinner.. listen to their interesting stories sounded like bedtime stories to me. hahaha. stayed at the hotpot place for like 3 hours (even though i stopped eating after first hour) before coming back to the hotel.
morning shift tml again. but heading out of the hotel with the HR peeople to the gong an (aka police station) for some admin works in the morning before heading back for my shift.
yawns. boyf just asked me not to wait for him. so i should be heading to bed already.
goodnight my dearestss in singapore!
ckg day #5
it was my off day yesterday.
but i kind of lazy to blogg in cos there was nothing much for me to talk about also lar. was busy watching youtube on the last episode of huan huan ai. BUT i'm uploading the video at a damn slow speed lar. in the end i also havent finish watching lorr. the channels on tv also got nice ouxiang ju to watch. so basically, my day is fill with watching of shows. :)
reported for my second day of work this afternoon. ok. they teach me something new today, which was to page for the housekeeper on each levels. den there is nothing much alr. i spend my time there..reading some stuffs, writing in my diary. my sup also released me earlier than my scheduled knock off time lar. hahaha.
nothing interesting.
gonna go sleep alr. morning shift tomorrow! off day is on sat. :)
take care pple! jenn misses you.

ckg day #3
reported to the HR office first thing in the morning to get our uniform, name tags, pins.. went though some admin stuffs, orientation and mini training. we took so long to get our uniform done lar. but good thing is that everything is provided from top to toe. :) next, we reported to our own department - guest service center is where i am in. will be attached there for a month before i move to executive lounge.
guest service center aka Gsc is the operator center. we will recieve alot of calls from internal and external guests asking for many different kinds of questions. therefore in order to be able to pick up calls, i need to have a lot of information and knowledge about the hotel, surrounding area, everything! hahaha. guess when i'm done memorising, i can move on to club floor alr. hahah.
the most tiring part was when we were being brought on the hotel tour to meet all the department heads. we went into every single department offices in the hotel. craziness lar. but it really makes us feel welcome though. cos everyone was expecting us, knows tt we are coming. but after one big tour, saying hi and trying to remember who's who and what position they are in. and when i finally got back to my department. i was already so drained out.
anyway. i had my first meal at the staff canteen today. and i understand why are we blessed with the priviledge to dine in at the hotel restaurant alr. the chongqing taste is really very different. =/ the spicy numbs mouth.. rarr. i barely had 10 mouths of food for lunch. terrible jenn.
keep bumping into the GM bcos he dines in the restaurant very often too. breakfast saw him, dinner also. hahaha. i'm happy to see him around in the hotel seriously. as he gives me the feeling of home. hahaha. its true! should try to strike a conversation with him the next time if possible.
though i very much wanted to sleep in after i knocked off at 3:30pm, i still headed out as one of the front desk supervisor has offered to help us get the correct sim card. BUT. so damn suay, when we were ready to make our purchase, their system (like our hello shop or m1 shop) breakdown! roars. and they kept saying there's nothing they could do but to wait. so in the end, we still dont have any china line yet. wth. but my hotel room has free incoming! can call if you know how to lar. hahaha. room no 1417 :)
had kfc for high tea. shopped for some neccesity. waited for roommate to dye her hair black at the salon cos our hair needs to be blackk. came back hotel for dinner.. and here i am.
its my off day tml. :) SLEEPING DAY!

ckg day #1
finally, i found some site to host my blog larr. unable to use and view blogspot/livejournal/xanga/multiply.. friendster blog is not very useful too. therefore, i would need to use the blog from china yahooo. hahaha! not bad also lar.
thanks to my dearest friends, lovelies, buddies and everybodies who had came down to the airport yesterday to send me off. my mama, mrchan, stephie, liying+bf, cheryl, jane, joanne, ame+bf, my BOND -alex, marv, melv, yc, david, eric, danielle, dingren.. (did i miss out anyone?) thanks to my dad for driving us down. thanks for the presence pple! thanks for the letter, cards and donut. thanks for the bondultimatum. i'm touched. thanks to those who wanted to come but unable to make it.. jenn understands ok!
yupss. i have reached chongqing safely last night, close to midnight. transportation provided to the hotel. check in and started unpacking our luggage. gonna stay in the guest room for 5 whole months! hahaha. quite cool. meals, laundry and housekeeping covered. triple :)
i am enjoying my life ! meals are provided in the hotel restaurant. for us :) we can choose to eat in the staff canteen or the restaurant. of cos we will choose restaurant larrr! so for breakfast lunch and dinner today, we had great foood. abalone and lobster for dinner lar. omg. i think van and i are so lucky and fortunate.
people here are v hospitable too. they took extra special care to our needs.. really. i'm touched (again). managers from different departments will called personally to welcome us. cos they aint in office during weekends and cant welcome us in person. so far everything has been good.
met the front office manager this morning and our supervisor in charge of us. they are not on duty today too! but came back just to give us a simply briefing. met the GM of the hotel, who happens to be a singaporean during lunch at the restaurant. meet quite alot of pple which i cant really remember who.
tour arnd the hotel ourselves before heading out to buy the calling card in china. first trip made out of the hotel. taxi charge was cheap at 5rmb per trip. but taxi condition was not tt great and drivers are very scary! they dont stop at red lights, honk at any blocking objects.. even police car. exciting and thrilling ride for 5rmb. lol. its scary lar, really.
anyway. it has been raining here in chongqing. since last night until night. drizzle most of the time. another day of enjoyment like a tourist before i officially starts my attachment on monday.
people who wants to know my china hp no. do get from me personally ok? otherwise you can always drop me a mail when you miss me. hahaa.
